I know that the heading is tautologous, because every photograph is a photo of the past, even if only from one minute ago, but you know what I mean.

By the way:

The word photograph was coined in 1839 by Sir John Herschel and is based on the Greek phos, meaning "light," and graphĂȘ, meaning "drawing, writing," together meaning "drawing with light."
